I mentioned the website 43 Folders in my last post. I still haven't really looked the site over, but I've listened to all the podcasts it offered. These podcasts had a variety of interesting ideas for enhancing productivity. The major one I took to…

Can I get a hallelujah ?! It was Erik Jagger that actually pointed me to an article about doing at least 5 minutes of something related to your work each day that really gave me that extra little push to keep going. Thanks Erik! :)

Yeah, I think the biggest thing is just to make sure you're doing something. If you have that core there, that you're updating your site and making comics, and you don't let yourself stop, time will reveal little by little the things you can do beyo…

I'm going to check that website out. Like you I'm in desperate need of improving my time management skills. I am also guilty of trying to do everything at once and just end up doing nothing. As many know I have started up something I have always jus…

One of the marketing podcasts I listened to mentioned 7 things new businesses do that cause them to fail. It actually only had 4 of those 7 things on the podcast I listened to; the rest were on a subsequent one. But this was the podcast that was a l…

Good call on the "pipe dream" argument. It's odd to me, but lately there's also been a backlash online against creative artists actually being paid for their work. It was at its most obvious during the WGA strike, when YouTube was flooded with amate…

Blocks of Time and Open Space

I mentioned the website 43 Folders in my last post. I still haven't really looked the site over, but I've listened to all the podcasts it offered. These podcasts had a variety of interesting ideas for enhancing productivity. The major one I took to heart was the idea of devoting blocks of times to specific and exclusive activities. The core of my time management problems really manifested in this ever-present feeling of anxiety no matter what I was doing.… Continue

One Thing at a Time

One of the marketing podcasts I listened to mentioned 7 things new businesses do that cause them to fail. It actually only had 4 of those 7 things on the podcast I listened to; the rest were on a subsequent one. But this was the podcast that was a lure to getting you to buy into their program, so I decided to explore other programs for now. The relevant point is that one of these 7 things they mentioned was, to summarize, trying to learn too much at once. Reading excessive amounts on businesses… Continue

Marketing

I started listening to more webcomic podcasts, and was starting to feel strangled by the one-sidedness of it all. I think it's important for me to feel connected with the webcomic community, but I don't want to be hypnotized into thinking like the masses. What I like about Webcomics Weekly is that the hosts are all people who are actually making a living off of their websites and so when they discuss webcomics, they discuss it as a legitimate business model… Continue

A Brief History

I went to Border's to grab a coffee, read Invisible Man, which I'm almost done with, and write some of Chapter Four. After reading a chapter, I didn't feel the comic juices flowing, so I browsed the comics section and found a Penny Arcade collection. Enticed, especially after having listened to their podcasts so frequently as of late, I took a read.

Several feelings welled up upon reading through the beginning of… Continue

Podcasts, Hobbies, and Goals

First things first. I just discovered that the official website, circa 1997, to one of my favorite video games OF ALL TIME is still available on the internet! For real. PURE AWESOME.

Moving on...

Podcasts, hobbies, and goals. That will help me keep in line the items I want to discuss in this post.

Podcasts. I've discovered the indispensable quality of webcomic related podcasts such as… Continue

No worries about he long-windedness. I really appreciate the answer. It's good to know that people are poring their heart and souls into their projects. And I must say that it's showing on TG. Especially your last dozen are so updates are simply wonderful.

And I feel you on all that revising and editing and revising and editing. I'm currently in the process of my fifth draft of my novel/thesis for my master's. Sure, I'm getting sick of reading the same things over and over, but it has gotten so much better from the initial draft. This is turning into something I can be proud of. And TG? Well, that's something I hope you're proud of, because you should be.

Thanks again for the reply. I'm a writing process junky.

I've been wondering, if you don't mind answering (don't if you don't want to (that's a lot of don'ts...)), how far ahead do you/have you plotted out for TG: S&D. I had a sequential comic for a small time and I was merely writing from one comic to the next, and I just wondered if you had the whole story written out or if you were doing the same. Either way, I think it's great and have thoroughly been enjoying it.

Glad to be a friend! I'm reading my way through JoeGP comics right now, and I'm in the middle of "Suffering and Death." Truly twisted, and casting it with talking guinea pigs is inspired. I'm digging it. :-)

I'm really digging your Guinea Pig space epic. Fun style and wonderfully bizarre story. Looking forward to the continued saga.
